Tried Tuesday: Soap & Glory Hand Food

tt-handfoodthIt’s a glorious day for a Tried Tuesday, and I spent a lot of it in the garden doing bits and pieces. That both explains why I’m posting this in the evening, and why I’m talking about a hand cream. Specifically Hand Food by Soap & Glory.

I admit I was doing some garden work without wearing gloves (silly me) so I was in need of a little TLC for my hands. Having not used Hand Food for a while it was time to break it out and give it a whirl. I actually found two of these in my cupboard, one of which was in quite bad shape, and only suitable for the bin. The other tube was more than usable, though. Woohoo!

The bright pink tube poses the question “The most astonishing hand cream ever?” and also tells us that it’s non greasy, with shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. The formula is quite creamy, but not overly rich, so it is a little runny. It does, however, sink in quite well, and doesn’t leave your hands feeling like they’re covered in hand cream.

The scent though is quite different. It is not unpleasant, but at the same time I have smelled much better. I’m not sure what it smells of exactly. It just smells… Sweet.

In all, it’s not the most astonishing hand cream ever, but it is still quite nice to use, and I will certainly keep using it.

What do you think of Hand Food? Can you describe the scent of it any better than I can? And how long will the weather last? As always, the comments await!

  • It states it’s Rose and bergamot (and I love both scents) but I do find it too sweet and cloying. Which is a bugger cos I’ve got the huge pump version in a drawer… Xx

    • The thing is I don’t get either rose or bergamot from it. I just get sweet. It’s not too sweet for me, but still… just sweet.

  • I’m a huge fan of this handcream but I’m not keen on the scent much. Its a sweet, artificial smell and i’m pretty sure I’m allergic to it. Shame because as you say it’s a great cream.

Go on, talk to me. I don't bite!
