Manicure Monday: Pink, Yellow & Flowers

mm-pinkyellowI’m still very much on a summer nail kick. The weather may not be cooperating fully, but it’s not going to stop me. My nails will look fabulously summery come rain, hail or shine. That’s why I’m going for so many bright colours, like this mix of pink, yellow and flowers.

The main colours in use here are pink and yellow, both from the Spoiled by Wet n Wild range, that has appeared randomly in some branches of Dealz at 2 for €1.49. The yellow is called designated driver, while the pink is called fuzzy dice. To add a little extra to it, I did a reverse colour accent nail, and added a flower on the accent too.

To do the accent flowers, I took a fine paintbrush, usually used for painting plastic models, and did dots of white, using Sinful Colors Snow Me White, a dot of orange in the middle with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Firey Island, and finally added a green stem and leaves using NYC  quick dry polish in High Line Green. I cleaned the brush in between colours by dipping it in some acetone free nail polish remover, and wiped it clean on a cotton ball, repeating a couple of times to ensure it was properly cleaned out.

This is such a simple mani to do, but yields fantastic results. You don’t even have to worry about slightly shaky hands, as it being a little uneven makes it look more natural.

What do you think? What summery colours are you sporting on your nails at the moment? Will you be trying nail art like this? Join me in the comments!
