Manicure Monday: Nails on Safari

Mani-AnimalthIt’s Monday, it’s a new week and it’s lashing rain & freezing cold. Thank you Ireland! How about we take some time to think of nicer places to be with today’s mani, which sees my nails go on safari.

5 nails, 5 animals, 5 very simple ways to make your nails look more animalistic. Seriously, how difficult is it to paint a few random stripes on a nail, or a few dots?

So, from thumb out we have a:

  • Tiger: White base, orange over it, leaving some white at the cuticle. Dab some orange on with a sponge to part blend these. Paint black stripes.
  • Snow Leopard: Grey base, add a few white swirls, then add in black leopard print with a fine brush
  • Cheetah: Brown base. Black dots. Done.
  • Zebra: Seriously, I’m not explaining how to do a zebra. Just LOOK AT IT!
  • Giraffe: Nude/beige base. Brown patches. Job’s a good ‘un.

And all of this took me just less than an hour. Let it set for a while, top coat it and you’re done!

Also, just as a note, I chose snow leopard to make it look drastically different to the cheetah.

Now, what to you think of my animal claws? Is it something you would try yourself? Talk to me in the comments and let me know!

No animals were harmed in the making of this post, though the Cheetah is giving strange looks to the Zebra next door.
