Swatch: Bourjois 1 Second Gel – Shade 14

nv61-thumbThis swatch is of Bourjois 1 Second Gel polish in shade 14 (no name) and is listed in my stash as bottle NV61. This was requested by Sharon of Behind Green Eyes. Shots are taken both with and without flash.

The numbers on the pictures correspond to the number of coats on that particular nail.

Firstly, without flash. Even without the flash you can see just how sparkly this polish is with almost holographic glitter.

With flash this becomes a sparkle lovers dream. So much shiny shiny in a slightly purple base, though it is incredibly sheer.

Application notes: This is advertised as 1 second due to the fan brush, which coats nails extremely quickly. It also dries quite quickly, and I was able to just keep layering coats right on top of each other, with almost no delay. As the polish is very sheer, you really have only 2 options. Add a coat or 2 over a base colour as a glittery topcoat, or have the patience to layer 4-5 coats on to each nail to go bling-tastic with super glittery nails. When it catches the light though, wear sunglasses!

Is this the right level of bling, or do my nails look like unicorn searchlights? Do you have any other Bourjois recommendations for me (it’s the only one in my collection)? And of course if there’s a polish you must see swatched, leave me a comment.
