Review: Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain
I must admit, from the first time I saw the adverts for the Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Tint, I had been intrigued by the idea of a long lasting stain for my lips that was super easy to apply. How difficult can a marker pen style applicator be, right? Unfortunately, the Max Factor ones really let me down. It was less “Lipfinity”, more “Lipfi… wait, where’s the colour gone?” I was, however saved by the offering from Revlon – Just Bitten Lip Stain.
I picked these up in Superdrug in Tallaght while they were on special, so I got €1 off each (I’ve had these a while, so I can’t remember exactly how much I paid) and I picked up two colours – Passion, a pink, and Gothique, a red.
Application is simplicity itself. As I said earlier, how difficult can a marker pen be to use. Answer, not really. The point manages to stay wet throughout, so you don’t really need to work to lay colour down with these. Just outline your lips, fill in and done. No mess, no real down time, no problem. (I have a thing for makeup that can be applied quickly)
Wear time is excellent. I can happily go one end of the day to the other without having to reapply the stain, though I would often reapply balm or gloss over them. It bodes well that when taking my makeup off at the end of the day you can see where you have removed it.
The colours themselves are lovely. Passion is a bit more of a daytime colour, while Gothique is excellent on its own or as a base for a red lip at night. Swatches are below.
So, what do you think? I love these as they are so quick to apply, and last forever. What other colours would you recommend? Any other brands I should try out? Does my hand look scaly? (I didn’t think it was that bad until I tried to photograph it close up – eek!) Leave a comment!
