Review: Benefit Browzings

Browzing-CaseI have an awful tendency to ignore my brows. They can go 2-3 months without anyone paying them much attention (yes, you can give out to me for that) but at my most recent brow shaping appointment, done by the lovely Aoife at Jasmine Beauty Clinic in Dun Laoghaire, I swore I would start looking after them better.

As part of that I invested in Browzings, Benefit Cosmetics brow wax and powder combo. I got it during House of Fraser’s recent beauty event, and got it at a 10% discount (regular price €34), in the medium shade.

The packaging is typical of Benefit, not that there is anything wrong with that, as I tend to like the packaging that Benefit do. It makes me smile. Inside the outer box you get a little compact containing a mirror, tools (angle brush, fluffy brush and a mini tweezers) and of course the products themselves. You also get instructions, but this is pretty foolproof (always a plus.)

Browzing-ProductThe wax is soft without being overly so, so it is easy to apply. I found picking a little of it up on my Ecotools angle brush at a time and applying it worked effectively. After that, it is just a case of using the fluffy brush (again I used one from Ecotools) to dust the powder over the wax to set it and fill in any gaps. So simple, even I could get it right.

So, without further ado, some before and after pics. Apologies in advance, as I need to teach myself how to take close-up eye shots with my EOS camera.

And After:

I feel it really makes a difference to my eyes. As I tweeted when I first tried it in a hurry: “Wow, I have beautiful brows” The shade matches quite well, so it defines without looking too overdone.

Other products used on my eye are the Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette and Bad Gal Lash (free with Glamour this month, woo!)

Any suggestions for other ways to take care of my brows? How about a good tweezers? (I need one, though the mini one in the kit does work quite well.) Want to give out to me for not looking after my brows? Leave a comment.
